Cantemir District, Republic of Moldova, has many touristic attractions and a very large and diversified touristic potential: religious tourism, cultural tourism, silvotourism and wine tourism. Although it is a beautiful and picturesque district, the touristic potential is still untapped. To become a touristic attraction, it is necessary to promote the district, rural towns in the south of the country and the yet unknown legends of the meadow of the Prut River.

The main touristic attractions of Cantemir district:

Codrii Tigheci landscape reserve is a natural, state-protected area. It stretches on a 2,519-ha area, between the villages of Larguta and Capaclia, Cantemir forestry, Tigheci-Cantemir County. The landscape can be described as natural deep forest, on the brink of water and steep slopes, with pedunculated oak, holm, hornbeam, ash, linden and rowan trees.

Dormition monastery in the village of Cociulia is a monastery of monks located in the village of Cociulia in Cantemir district, about 140 km from Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. It was founded in 1997 on the site of a monastery from which only a few ruins were preserved.

Nicolae Sulac memorial house in Sadic is 82 km from the capital of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau. The memorial house was erected on the site where performer Nicolae Sulac grew up, being built on the model of the peasant dwellings of that time: from adobes, with whitewashed walls and clay threshold, composed of a tendin and two rooms. Since its inauguration in 2006, the museum has received daily tourists and hosts, every two years, a music festival in memory of Nicolae Sulac.

Vineyards and wineries in the Cantemir district. As viticulture is a basic branch in the economy of Cantemir district, those who wish to visit Cantemir district can enjoy a wine tour of this region where they can admire the hills with vineyards spreading over hundreds of hectares, the winery with underground galleries, where they can learn about the modern technologies of grape processing for wine production, as well as about the traditions and customs of wine here. They can also enjoy the beautiful and sunny places of the area. In Cantemir district there are still places where the "drink of the gods" is a business card of great pride due to the far superior quality of the wines produced here.

The Museum of History and Ethnography in Tartaul is one of the most important museums in Cantemir district, founded in 1989 within the school of Tartaul. The museum is located right in the centre of the town and is currently being renovated. It has about 1496 exhibits of which: historical documents – 400, numismatic objects – 351, technical objects – 260, photographs – 173, ethnographic objects – 166 and other materials related to the study of the homeland. Some of the museum's objects (123 pieces) were computerized. The Museum of History and Ethnography displays vestiges of the past and testifies to the life, work and cultural life of the natives.

The centre for handicrafts and artistic weaving in Ciobalaccia - in the village of Ciobailaccia there is a center of handicrafts and artistic weaving. Here are concentrated a large part of the works of the popular craftsmen of the district (creation, embroidery) and handicraft exhibitions are organized.

Mausoleum Cathedral in the village of Cania - a trip to Cantemir district will give tourists the opportunity to admire the architecture of the churches and enjoy the spiritual wealth of the people in this area. The Mausoleum Cathedral, with the wake of "Holy Martyr Dimitrie", is a place of worship dedicated to the fallen heroes of the Second World War. The cathedral is currently being built.

Cantemir City can be considered a young one, being attested in 1973 as an administrative unit. The name of the locality comes from the name of the ruler of Moldova, Dimitrie Cantemir, and the predominant population is made up of the workers of "Prut" canning factory. Among city’s touristic objectives we mention: "Dimitrie Cantemir” History Museum, "Dimitrie Cantemir” monument, the White House (town hall), the Obelisk of Heroes fallen in the Afghan war, the Obelisk of Slavia dedicated to the Iasi-Chisinau Operation etc.

Tiganca Romanian Cemetery of Honour - near the village of Stoianovca in the Cantemir district is the Cemetery of Honour of the Romanian Soldiers who fell in the battles of Tiganca Bridgehead. Here were buried the earthly remains of the Romanian soldiers and officers who died in the battles of June-July 1941, about 1020 heroes fallen in the line of duty. Tiganca Romanian Cemetery of Honour was inaugurated on 1 June 2006, a day marked by King Michael's first visit to the land of Bessarabia, accompanied by members of the Romanian royal family.

Floodplain near Antonesti village landscape reserve is a natural, state-protected area which covers 93.6 ha, west of Antonesti village, Cantemir district. The reserve comprises a section of the floodplain of the Prut, partially covered with water and marshes. Rare animal species are found here: swans, shovelers, otters. At the base of the local shore are springs with drinking water.
